Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic individual eager to make a real difference? Do you want to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team offering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech language therapy interventions at North Shore Hospital?
We have a highly sought-after opportunity for an allied health assistant to join our acute inpatient team on a part-time, permanent basis. In this varied role, you’ll work across medical, orthopaedic, and surgical wards, supporting patients with therapy interventions, exercise programs, and activities to aid recovery and rehabilitation. Comfort with working alongside patients who require isolation, such as those who are COVID-positive, is essential.

Key tasks of this role:
• Assist patients with prescribed interventions under the supervision of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Therapists
• Support clinicians in patient sessions
• Demonstrate the use of adaptive equipment to enhance independence and safety. 

Key requirements for this role:
• Our preferred candidate will ideally have recent experience working with older adults and be familiar with working in a hospital setting
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, particularly with older people & team members
• An adaptable and mature approach 
• Commitment to on-going learning
• Good organisational and self-management skills
• Self-motivation, enthusiasm and initiative
• Ability to work well in a team
• Salary scale: $72,074-86,719
