Catering Floor Supervisor - Fixed Term at Te Papa, Wellington - Wairarapa

Te Papa stands proud as an iconic national building housing the treasures of the nation and is a vibrant destination for both national and international visitors. We've now also partnered with Wellington City Council to operate Tākina, Wellington's newest Convention and Exhibition Centre.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team on a fixed term basis, as a Catering Floor Supervisor as we enter our busy season with Tākina Events. We are looking for two people, one to cover an 8 month fixed term from April to November 2025, and other a 5 month fixed term from April to August 2025.
As a Catering Floor Supervisor, your role is to overseeing every aspect of the Te Papa Venues event or function is delivered effectively and efficiently to Te Papa and Tākina standards, ensuring we are meeting customer expectations and all within budget.
We operate 7 days a week and therefore your flexibility to work over a 7-day roster including Public Holidays and weekends will be essential criteria, as is the flexibility to work across both our Te Papa and Tākina locations.
The position involves:
- Overseeing every function to ensure that client expectations are met at all times, proactively resolving any issues; and
- Training and supervising Venues staff to ensure a high standard of customer service is delivered at all times; and
- Ensuring compliance with our policies and procedures, and legislative requirements of food hygiene and safety and Responsible Service of Alcohol.
Key skills and attributes for this position include:
- Experience in supervising an events team
- Customer-focused attitude and attention to detail
- A passion for delivering WOW factor functions
- Excellent organisation skills
- Negotiation and problem solving skills
- Duty Manager License
- First Aid Qualification

The salary range for this position will be $59,439 to $70,000 per annum pro-rated to the specified period of this fixed term agreement. Offers will be made within the range to reflect the skills and experience offered by the candidate and those required of the role, and internal relativities with other employees.
