Registered Nurse - Oncology Outpatients at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury, Christchurch

- Permanent position available between 0.4FTE - 1.0FTE (hours to be discussed at interview stage)
- Shifts - Monday to Friday - 0730-1600, 0830-1700 and 0930-1800 (will be required to work some Public Holidays)

About the Role
In this role you will undertake a variety of roles across the care trajectory of both radiation and medical oncology patients. This includes assessment and symptom management of patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, administering chemotherapy and conducting patient education.

Christchurch Hospital - s Oncology Service is the largest provider of oncology services in the South Island. We are leaders in clinical practice and research at the forefront of clinical developments and quality models of care.
About you
As a Registered Nurse you - ll be an integral part of our dedicated multidisciplinary team, and passionate about delivering high quality nursing care to our patients. You will be a natural team player with an easy communication style, warm and friendly with a great sense of humour. You will undertake a range of roles including chemotherapy administration, patient education, Oncology Triage and potentially work in the radiation space.
- 3+ years nursing experience
- Oncology Outpatients experience preferred but not essential
- Ideally you will have astute independent assessment and clinical decision making ability
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with a strong patient focus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
