Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Reporting Analyst to join our dynamic and collaborative Corporate & Finance group. Reporting into the Scheme Finance Lead, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting and insights that support operational and strategic decision-making. The key responsibilities of the Senior Reporting Analyst will be:
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports and analysis.
- Collaborate within the team to deliver meaningful commentary and insights.
- Lead the implementation of data and reporting improvements into business-as-usual processes, ensuring clarity and ease of use for report consumers.
- Develop and enhance data sets to support analytical work across a variety of business activities within the group.
- Support the Sustainability team to report emissions data to the Carbon Neutral Government Programme, and climate for the Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards.
As a Senior this role will be expected to:
- Confidently engage with a range of teams and key stakeholders to understand their data and business reporting needs and translate into an appropriate reporting format.
- Proactively drive the implementation of data and information initiatives into business-as-usual processes that can be easily understood by report users.
With a blend of regular financial reporting and ad hoc analytical work and plenty of scope for continuous improvement initiatives, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact. The work directly supports ACC to meet our strategic vision and ensure the sustainability of the Scheme.
The base salary range for this role is $101,287 - $142,993 with appointment depending on skills and experience and internal relativities. ACC also offers 9% superannuation on top of base salary.

Mōu | About you
We're open to public or private sector experience, but you will need curiosity and open mindedness to improve data practices and outputs with your expertise and enthusiasm. You'll have experience in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence, with a good foundation of experience in a similar role. This role would benefit from prior experience in, a qualification in, or a working knowledge of accounting.
We'll be looking for:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with databases and business intelligence tools to extract, manipulate and analyse data.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, dashboards, and producing meaningful analysis.
- Advanced Power BI skills (Data Modelling, Dashboard Design, Publishing and Distribution, Data Security).
- Experience in building and maintaining effective relationships, and the ability to gain credibility with senior people leaders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language.
- SQL programming skills and/or experience in Snowflake is advantageous.
- Experience or understanding of financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data warehousing concepts.
