Hawke’s Bay fallen Soldiers Hospital, Community Nursing Health Care Assistant: Casual
This is a causal Health Care Assistant (HCA) position to cover the planned (annual) and unplanned (sick) leave of the HCA’s within the Community Nursing Service.

About the Role
The responsibilities of the HCA’s include assisting with clinical care for those patients requiring two people, and providing some care independently for patients as delegated by the Registered Nurse, supporting with day-to-day management of supplies and deliveries to patients, administrative tasks and maintenance of equipment. The work is varied and interesting as the services all have a speciality focus and a supportive team approach to the provision of care to our population groups.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Community Nursing Services consists of the District Nursing teams in Napier and Hastings, the Continence, Ostomy, Better Breathing Hawkes Bay (providing respiratory and heart failure rehabilitation and Community Oxygen Therapy) and Wound teams. The services are based at Hawkes Bay fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Napier Health Centre, requiring you to work from the base as well as in the community setting.

About you
You will also need the following key attributes and skills:
- Previous experience working in a health care setting
- Full unendorsed drivers’ licence
- Computer skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Previous experience working within a team
