Clinical Nurse Coordinator - pre and postoperative surgery - PACU at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Te Matau a Māui Hawke's Bay, Hawkes Bay

  • Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier’s Hospital, Perioperative service – PACU unit
  • Permanent, Full-time 80 hour’s per fortnight (1 FTE)

About the Role

We have a rare and amazing opportunity for a passionate Clinical Nurse Coordinator with perioperative nursing experience to join the Perioperative team at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier’s Hospital. We invite suitably qualified nurse leaders who are passionate about delivering high quality clinical services to apply for this role.

 

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Coordinate the patient flow within the unit during your shift.
  • Actively lead and support the post anaesthetic care unit (PACU) and effectively contribute to the delivery of safe and effective services.
  • Ensure that standards of care are maintained and coordinate patient care with other members of the surgical team.
  • Provide clinical advise to patients and other clinical staff when required and demonstrate supporting the learning of others e.g., nursing students within the clinical area.
  • Support the development and implementation of quality improvement activities within the unit.

About you

In this critical role we are looking for someone with the following key skills and attributes,

  • Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse.
  • Recent relevant perioperative experience.
  • Recent experience leading and developing teams
  • Credibility and integrity (embraces professionalism and ethical practice).
  • Ability to grasp implications of a situation quickly and is able to make effective decisions quickly.
  • Holds a current annual practising certificate as a Registered Nurse.
  • Holds a currently assessed expert level or designated senior nurse level PDRP via an approved Nursing Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP).
