Health Care Assistant - Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation (AT&R)
- Permanent Part Time 64 Hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE)
- All Rostered Duties - across 24 hours

About the Role
The AT&R is based in a new purpose-built facility, and right now, we - re looking for a Health Care Assistant with experience behind them to become part of the Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R) ward at Timaru Hospital.
As a Health Care Assistant in our busy AT&R Ward, you will assist with providing care and support to patients under the direction and supervision of registered nurses, (in addition to other necessary - housekeeping - tasks on the ward).
This is varied role where there is never a dull moment or a day that looks like another!
About You
Ideally you will have directly relevant work experience or have worked for a recognised healthcare provider and therefore you are able to bring this experience to the role. Other success factors for this role includes;
- Assisting people who have major health care needs
- Utilising well-developed communication skills to enhance the patients experience while they are under our care
- Keen willingness to work in support of the wider team needs, while seeking assistance when necessary
- Taking initiative sees something requiring attention and simply does it
- Displays sound sensitivity (both cultural & empathy) toward others
- Unfailingly maintains confidentiality in all respects
- The right to work in New Zealand
