The Opportunity
We have an exciting role available for a permanent, full time (1.0 FTE), New Zealand registered Speech-language Therapist to join our dedicated, supportive and friendly Speech-language Therapy team based at Greenlane Clinical Centre and Point Chevalier Clinical Centre.
Our Speech-language Therapists work in locality teams and are committed to the holistic delivery of health services with their MDT colleagues, within the Te Toka Tumai community. We offer therapy to clients with a range of communication and swallowing disorders due to a wide variety of conditions. Services are provided in the community, home, clinic and telehealth settings. Being part of our community team, we also offer training and development opportunities, including video fluoroscopy (VFSS).
Alongside a clinical caseload, there will be opportunities for developing your skills in coaching, service development and quality initiatives suitable for your level of experience. Our community team offers:

About the Team/Service/ Location
The Community Allied Health Team is a large, multidisciplinary service that is dedicated to improving the lives of adult clients with physical health and disability needs across the Central Auckland region. Our Speech-Language Therapists (SLTs) collaborate with a diverse group of professionals and teams, providing and delivering holistic health services within Te Toka Tumai Auckland community. The team provides client-centred care, ensuring coordination around each individual's needs.
About you
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- Registered member of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists’ Association (NZSTA) with current Annual Practicing Certificate
- At least one year of post graduate experience as a Speech-Language Therapist in a hospital/community setting
- Full and current NZ Drivers licence
- An understanding of bicultural issues and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Drive, energy and initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- For community-based roles, you will be required to have a valid driver’s license
- Desirable skills: CAT Level 1 accreditation, Dysphagia competencies
