Manager Financial Accounting at Government Communications Security Bureau, Wellington

The Intelligence Community Shared Services (ICSS) support the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki and the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) | Te Pā Whakamarumaru in the achievement of individual and joint agency strategic and operational outcomes.

The role

We are looking for a passionate leader to manage the planning and delivery of all financial accounting, transactional processing and annual reporting and external reporting functions. You will develop and coach a high performing team, champion best practice, and manage the quality and timeliness of output.

As a member of the Finance leadership team, you will also contribute to Finance strategy, and foster a collaborative Finance team culture promoting continuous improvement and a customer service focus.

Who we're looking for

To be successful:

  • You will be CA qualified, demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge and previous experience delivering financial accounting responsibilities.
  • You will also display strong relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to provide robust advice and support.
  • Along with drive and energy, you will be passionate and proactive about best practice, and will be comfortable leading financial accounting strategy.
  • Public Sector experience will be viewed favourably.

Before you apply

Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.

You must:

  • Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years

OR

Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years

  • Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
    • Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
