We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. 

The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to lead and coordinate care within our Lymphoedema Service. This pivotal role involves advanced clinical management of patients with complex lymphoedema needs, integrating care across cancer, vascular, and long-term condition specialties.

You will work in a transdisciplinary team, driving service excellence through direct clinical care, education, service development, and evidence-based practice. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact while advancing your nursing career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert assessment, treatment, and case management for patients with lymphoedema
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external providers to enhance patient outcomes
  • Develop and maintain patient education resources and contribute to public and professional awareness
  • Lead and support clinical teaching and mentoring for staff
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and lead audits, research, and clinical innovation
  • Maintain professional development, attend conferences, and contribute to national networks
  • Uphold principles of cultural safety and the Treaty of Waitangi in all aspects of care

About You:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • 5+ years of experience (post registration) in NZ
  • Recent relevant experience in Lymphoedema
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (or equivalent) completed or near completion.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in coaching and mentoring nursing staff.
