We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Residential Administrator to be based at our Youth Justice residence in Palmerston North. In this varied role, you will assist with the day-to-day tasks associated with the reception, payroll, and administration functions for the site.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

As part of the multidisciplinary team, the Residential Administrator role provides a comprehensive range of administrative services that support, enable and enhance workplace operations. Operating in an environment where no two days are the same, Residential Administrators support a variety of functions that uphold highly effective and varied operations of a Youth Justice Residence.

Te Au rere a te Tonga provides a safe, secure and supportive environment where rangatahi aged 13-17 who have offended can make positive changes and get their lives back on track.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include: 

  • Experience in office administration, customer service and supporting payroll functions
  • A high level of competence in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong relationship building skills and experience dealing with members of the public
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective organisation, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, use your initiative and a sense of humour!
  • Skilled at managing competing priorities and being flexible to change in the workplace
