About the Role

We are seeking applications for a Haematology Advanced Trainee Registrar post for the 2026 training year. The position is based at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand.

Applicants must have an interest in Haematology, and be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand. It is possible to consider training in the joint FRACP/FRCPA program or the individual College programs.

About the Team/Service

Our Haematology Service is part of the Waikato Regional Cancer Centre and the Waikato Hospital Laboratory. Clinical Haematology Services include outpatients, an inpatient ward, day stay cytotoxic unit and outreach services to the region.

The Haematology team is comprised of ten haematologists with joint physician/pathologist training (FRACP/FRCPA) and a skilled nursing practitioner.

About you

As a Haematology Advanced Trainee, you will

  • Have passed the RACP clinical examination
  • Interested in broadening your clinical exposure
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand
