District Charge Nurse Manager - Diabetes and Endocrine Service at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley, Wellington Hospital

Location: District wide, covering Wellington Regional Hospital, Hutt Hospital, Kenepuru Hopsital, and Kapiti Health Centre

Contract: Permanent full time positions

About the Role 

The District Charge Nurse Manager (CNM) role is a key leadership position within the Diabetes and Endocrine service with responsibility for the safe, effective and equitable management of the service. The CNM will be a clinical and professional leader, and manage the people, systems, processes and resources within the service.

About the Team/Service Location 

The Diabetes and Endocrine Service is a centre of excellence, supporting and empowering health professionals, patients and their whānau to maximise their ability to self-manage their diabetes or endocrine related health. The service has four components; Endocrine, Diabetes, Research and Specialist diabetes community management and nursing support service. 

About you 

We are looking for an experienced leader, with the following

  • Registered Nurse with APC and post graduate education, expected to have Master - s degree or working towards
  • Experience in leading and managing teams, people management, and leading quality improvement activities.
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing and monitoring policies, protocols and guidelines
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with comprehensive understanding of equity
  • Senior level on PDRP
  • Ability to review, and implement required changes utilising a change or improvement model
