Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau is seeking a part-time permanent Senior Medical Officer, Adult Cardiologist, with subspecialist training in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiac Device Management.

This is an opportunity to work in a high-demand, equity-focused Cardiology service, delivering specialist care to one of New Zealands most culturally diverse communities.You will join a collaborative and well-supported team of 19 Cardiologists, including 2 Cardiac Electrophysiologists.

About the Role

Core responsibilities include undertaking arrhythmia consultations and cardiac device implantation/management at Middlemore Hospital and performing catheter EP and ablation procedures as part of a regional EP service at Te Toka Tumai, Auckland City Hospital.  On-call commitments include local Cardiology at Middlemore and regional EP. Other commitments include contributing to an inpatient CCU/Ward service, a Ward Referral service and Cardiology clinics. Opportunities for teaching and research exist.

About You

Qualified Adult Cardiologist with subspecialty training in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Device Implantation.
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent qualification.
Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Medical Officer with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Current Annual Practising Certificate, or eligibility to obtain one.
Experienced in arrhythmia assessment, cardiac device implantation and follow-up, and catheter EP/ablation procedures.
Able to work collaboratively across local and regional cardiology services.
Committed to patient-centred, culturally safe and whānau-centred care.
Experienced, or strongly interested, in working with Māori, Pacific and other South Auckland communities.
Interested in service improvement, teaching, innovation, research and developing models of care that improve access, engagement and continuity for patients and whānau.
