  Training Opportunities

RACP Basic Training (Years 1-3) experience:

- General Paediatrics

- Paediatric Emergency

- Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU)

- Subspecialty exposure: Cardiology, Respiratory, Neurology, Haematology/Oncology, Gastroenterology, Immunology/Infectious Diseases, Endocrinology, Renal/Rheumatology

RACP Advanced Training experience:

- General Paediatrics

- Level 3 NICU

- Community and Developmental Paediatrics

- Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

- Medical Subspecialties

- Paediatric Emergency

- Te Puaruruhau (Child Protection)

- Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

- Consult Liaison

  Broaden Your Experience

Rural runs in Whangarei and Tauranga are also available. These runs are ideal for completing rural training requirements in Advanced Training in General Paediatrics.

Enquiries about the Whangarei rotation can be directed to the RMO unit at the Northland District. Email: rmo.unit@northlanddhb.org.nz, though applications for the training scheme will still need to be submitted via the Auckland Paediatric training scheme in the first instance.

Eligibility

- Minimum 9-12 months of paediatrics experience preferred

- Enrolled in or eligible for the FRACP training programme (or equivalent)

- Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand

(NZ-based applicants must have completed two full post-graduate years)
