Consultant Psychiatrist, Mental Health & Addictions at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau, Auckland

  • HNZ-TWO Counties Manukau, Springs Road in East Tamaki. Permanent, Full time role
  • Whakatupu Ora Infant Mental Health team is a multi-disciplinary specialist service team providing assessment and therapy for children (0 to 4 years) and their caregivers to improve mental health outcomes for children.

About the Role

This role has interface with our Maternal Mental Health team, our multi-disciplinary specialist team providing assessment and treatment to pregnant women and those with an infant up to 12months old. The Infant team has a specific focus on the Infant, there is shared Multidisciplinary team meeting, allowing for consultation and joint work from both perspectives. We are based at Springs Rd site in East Tamaki. The teams provide clinic and community-based services for whaanau in the CM Health area.

About the Team/Service/ Location

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be engaged in core clinical activities such as treatment planning and the development of recovery-oriented interventions that are culturally relevant to our service users and their whaanau. You will have a focus on early intervention, experience in working with whanau and excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with a wide range of services and professionals on intervention plans. About you

  • Vocational Registration with the MCNZ as a Consultant Psychiatrist
  • Experience in and ability to develop therapeutic relationships with caregivers and infants or children
  • A full NZ Drivers license with no limitation
  • Current Medical Indemnity Insurance
