About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Manager who will provide clinical leadership and oversight to the Outpatient Nursing team. This is a key frontline leadership role within Health NZ Taranaki and is responsible for the operational management and leadership of the Surgical Outpatient and District Nursing Unit, enabling the provision of safe, high-quality care.

As the Clinical Nurse Manager for Surgical Outpatients, your focus will be ensuring that our people experience a service that promotes positive health outcomes and enables them to live well, within their whanau and community. Coordinating services to meet the ongoing needs of Taranaki and using innovative and future focused models of care in partnership with the multidisciplinary team, internal and external stakeholders and service providers.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our dedicated and supportive outpatient and district nursing service delivers clinical care across New Plymouth Hospital, working closely with Specialist services and administration teams, towards achieving equitable health outcomes. Collaborating with other services and departments comes naturally to meet the demands of our community, grow our staff, and provide effective and efficient services.

About you

As Clinical Nurse Manager, you will have highly developed clinical and leadership skills while continuing to find opportunities to grow yourself, your service and those around you.

The successful applicant will have:

Qualifications

Registered Nurse with current NZ APC 

NZQA Postgraduate Diploma (or equivalent)

Working toward appropriate NZQA Masters

PDRP Expert or Designated Senior Nurse level

Experience

Minimum of 5-years recent Surgical health experience with leadership responsibilities, e.g. shift leadership, coordination or CNM experience

Experience in service development or quality improvement

Experience in workforce and professional development

Working at Health New Zealand
