Personal Assistant/Coordinator - Trauma Service at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Waikato, Waikato

  • Te Manawa Taki (Midland) - Trauma System Based at Waikato Hospital
  • Fixed Term, 0.8 FTE (64 hours per fortnight)

About the Role

Are you looking for a role that is dynamic, meaningful, and never the same two days in a row?

The Te Manawa Taki (Midland Regional) Trauma Service is on the hunt for a passionate Personal Assistant/Coordinator to cover parental leave. 

This isnt your typical admin job - youll be at the heart of our service, helping things run smoothly while contributing to work that truly impacts patients, whānau, and communities. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Keep our local and regional meetings running smoothly (agenda, minutes, bookings)
  • Be the go-to person for our Trauma Hub and clinicians
  • Oversee procurement and logistics, from processing orders and invoices to coordinating purchases and travel arrangements.
  • Own calendar and schedules (including our Clinical Directors)
  • Support recruitment, staff leave, and admin processes
  • Organise training sessions and team events
  • Contribute to communications and reports
  • Get involved in projects that shape the future of trauma care

About Hamilton

Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. Youre organised, proactive, and thrive on variety. You enjoy connecting with people and love making things happen. 

Youll bring:

  • Proven experience as a PA/Coordinator (or similar)
  • Tech confidence (especially with MS Office)
  • Top-notch communication skills, written and verbal
  • Great time management and multitasking ability
  • A friendly, approachable, positive attitude
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
