At DOC, our systems support the work of thousands of people who care for our environment every day from biodiversity and biosecurity to recreation and heritage. As an SAP Developer, you will play a key role in ensuring these systems are robust, efficient, and capable of supporting our mission.
Help protect Aotearoa's natural heritage by bringing your SAP development expertise to a role that truly matters. You will work in a supportive, agile team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and customise SAP solutions including ABAP programs, reports, forms, interfaces, workflows, and WRICEF objects.
- Ensure technical quality by writing clean, efficient code, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining documentation.
- Manage integrations and data using IDocs, web services, and support data migration with strong SQL optimisation.
- Engage with stakeholders, clarifying requirements and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Deliver SAP solutions aligned with DOC's strategic and conservation objectives, supporting feasibility, design, and UAT.

We are looking for technically strong SAP developer with comprehensive ABAP expertise, solid analytical capability, and proven collaborative skills. You will bring experience across core SAP modules, integration technologies, and modern development tools.
You will also have the following skills and experience;
- Strong SAP ABAP development skills including RAP and CDS with hands-on WRICEF experience across SAP enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP Mobility technologies including development and deployment of applications on Android.
- Strong skill in BTP and SAP Cloud Services.
- Sound understanding of SAP Finance, MM, and EAM modules.
- Proficient in the use of ADT/Eclipse and SAP Build.
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex issues, improving code performance, and maintaining high quality standards.
- Clear and effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and experience working in agile teams.
- Holds (or working toward) relevant tertiary qualifications and SAP certifications.
- Desirable Python Scripts literacy.
