Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau, Northland

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab, you will utilise professional knowledge and skill to provide a holistic approach to nursing care that is safe, of the highest quality possible and in accordance with:

  • Te Whatu Ora policies
  • Registered Nurse Scope of Practice
  • Nursing Practice Standards
  • Nursing Council of NZ Registered Nurse competencies
  • Nursing Council code of conduct

You will ensure provision of nursing care is in consultation and partnership with the patient/client/family/ whanau, where the rights and needs of all people are acknowledged within the context of the Treaty of Waitangi. As Registered Nurse, you will also maintain and enhance the professional standards of nursing and contribute to further development of nursing within the service.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our cath lab is a three-day-a-week, elective-focused service with no STEMI call requirements, offering a calm, well-structured environment centred on planned diagnostic and interventional procedures. The predictable schedule allows for excellent worklife balance while still providing rich opportunities to develop strong cardiology and procedural nursing skills. With a small, supportive team and a focus on quality, safety, and continuity of care, the service provides an ideal setting for RNs who value collaborative practice and a steady, patient-centred workflow.

About you

As a Registered Nurse, you will have a demonstrated interest in Cardiology and Cardiac nursing and an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Registered Nurse with a current Practicing Certificate
  • IV Designation
  • The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good communication skills with a focus on listening
  • Effective time management and good organizational skills

Desirable

  • Recent (within two years) experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Acute cardiology and or critical care experience
