Health Care Assistant - OPRS

Older Persons Stroke and Rehabilitation unit

Permanent, part time (0.7 FTE/56 hours per fortnight), full rostered shifts

About the Role

The key purpose of this role will be to provide support within the ward or department as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse/Midwife. The support provided may include clinical and non-clinical tasks.

As an HCA you will be working as part of multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.

About you

As a Health care assistant the following will be required:

  • Achieved NCEA level 1 or equivalent (A relevant qualification as an HCA such as NZQU/Career Force/other approved programmes)
  • Previous work in a health care setting or related health or consumer focussed service prefered. 
  • Be self motivated and uses initiative, but also able to work as a member of a team.
  • Have an ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes in a demanding work environment.
