Clinical Midwife Coordinator at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawke's Bay, Hawkes Bay

About the Role

As a Clinical Midwife Coordinator, youll provide day-to-day clinical leadership and coordination across inpatient maternity services. Youll be the central point of communication, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow and resource allocation while supporting staff and maintaining high standards of care. This role offers the opportunity to lead service improvement projects, mentor colleagues, and contribute to quality initiatives that enhance outcomes for women and whānau.

Youll work closely with the Midwife Manager and senior midwifery team to deliver excellence in maternity care and foster a positive, collaborative environment.

About you

As a Clinical Midwife Coordinator, you will bring:

  • Current registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and a valid practising certificate.
  • At least 5 years of midwifery experience across a range of settings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage resources, coordinate patient flow, and support staff in a busy environment.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, and culturally safe practice.
