Physiotherapist - Respiratory Outpatients at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawke's Bay, Hawkes Bay

About the Role

As a Physiotherapist in Respiratory Outpatients, youll provide expert assessment, intervention, and education for adults with respiratory conditions in both outpatient and community settings. Your work will focus on improving breathing function, mobility, and overall quality of life for patients and their whānau. Youll manage a varied caseload, develop individualised treatment plans, and collaborate closely with respiratory consultants, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team.

This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact by supporting patients through pulmonary rehabilitation and recovery, while contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives. About the Team/Service/ Location

Youll join our Te Whata Moanarua Allied Health Therapies team, based at Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings, working alongside respiratory specialists and community partners such as Breath Hawkes Bay. Our team is committed to delivering equitable, whānau-centered care and supporting patients across Hawkes Bay to achieve better respiratory health outcomes.

About you

As a Physiotherapist, you will bring:

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or equivalent) and current NZ registration with an Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, ideally in respiratory or related areas.
  • Ability to apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and engage effectively with Māori consumers and whānau.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a clean, full NZ drivers license.
