Te Puriri o Te Ora ,Auckland Regional Cancer and Blood Service at Te Toka Tumai, Auckland invites applications for a Charge Nurse position in our Oncology Outpatients unit to join our dynamic and supportive Oncology Outpatients Service.

Our Oncology Outpatients Department is the largest in New Zealand and provides a fast-paced, complex clinical environment offering extensive opportunities for professional development. As a Charge Nurse, you will provide clinical and professional leadership, supporting nursing staff, patients, and their whānau throughout the cancer treatment journey.

 

About the Role

This role involves close collaboration with Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology multidisciplinary teams, delivering care across Te Toka Tumai Auckland sites, regionally, and into community settings as the service expands.

You will have operational oversight and leadership responsibility for nursing teams working across:

  • Chemotherapy Day Stay Unit
  • Radiotherapy department
  • Oncology Outpatient Clinics
  • Acute Oncology Day Stay

As part of the senior nursing leadership team, you will play a key role in workforce coordination, prioritising workload, supporting safe clinical practice, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

About You

You are a motivated and experienced oncology nurse who is ready to take the next step in your leadership journey. You will bring:

  • A strong commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • A current Annual practicing certificate
  • A minimum of 4 years oncology experience, currently working in a senior nursing role or a level four chemotherapy certified Registered nurse with a strong oncology background.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • A Commitment to evidence-based nursing practice
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making and leadership skills
  • Resilience, initiative, vision and a guanine desire to make a difference
  • Post graduate qualification (preferred)
