Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

The Budget and Fiscal Performance Group is looking for talented, organised Programme and Project Coordinators to support the delivery of the annual Budget, Economic and Fiscal Update, and other Treasury events.

There are two roles available:

  • An events management focussed Programme Coordinator role, which will be responsible for organising events associated with Budget day, the release of Economic and Fiscal Updates, the release of the Budget Policy Statement, and other Treasury events such as cross-Government CFO forums.
  • A project coordination Project Coordinator role, which will be responsible for supporting the teams with work such as the Budget proactive release and monitoring and tracking workstreams.

Both roles involve developing timelines, and a wide range of procurement and logistical tasks (such as booking venues and equipment, and organising co-ordination and governance groups).  The work is varied and busy, and you will work across a range of teams.

For the events management focussed role, you would:

  • Have an understanding of - and ideally experience in delivering - the requirements of successful events-management. 
  • be organised, proactive, practical, attentive to detail, adaptable to changing circumstances, security-conscious and responsive to the sensitive and high-profile nature of events organised by Treasury.
  • work well with others to achieve goals and thrive under pressure and tight deadlines

For the project coordination focussed role, you would:

  • have experience in project coordination, including experience of using different project management tools and practices to support teams and senior leaders make decisions.
  • be organised, proactive, practical, attentive to detail, and adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • work well with a wide range of stakeholders from different teams and backgrounds.
