Do you want to join a dynamic, Innovative team in the emergency department at Taranaki Base hospital? If you have the enthusiasm for providing emergency nursing care in a well-supported environment, then this could be the place for you!

We have permanent positions available as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency department, working across Monday to Sunday.

You will join a highly skilled, and supportive team who manage the unique variety of emergency situations presenting at our provincial hospital. This is an exciting environment in which to develop excellence in emergency nursing assessment and planning skills, with support of the emergency department staff. 

Our nursing team consists of nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, an emergency department educator, and a clinical coach. In addition to the nursing support, we work closely alongside a team of senior and junior medical staff.

About you Ke korero mōu

Preferred candidates will have:

Emergency Department and/or acute care experience

If you dont have ED experience but have other transferable skills combined with a connection to the Western coast of Taranaki-Ngāmotu then we have a desire to train and grow our people

A current New Zealand Aotearoa nursing practicing certificate (APC)

Desire to make a difference in our community

A can do attitude

A commitment to ongoing education to support excellence in emergency nursing

A strong focus on patient assessment
