Research Co-ordinator - Health Advisory at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau, Northland

About the Role

We are seeking a Research Coordinator to support highquality, ethical and impactful research across Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau by managing research application processes and providing expert guidance to both internal and external researchers. The role leads the assessment, coordination and monitoring of research and clinical audit submissions, while also offering strategic advice on funding opportunities and research implementation. It also plays a key part in maintaining research governance structures and fostering strong relationships with local and national research partners.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Research Coordinator works within the Te Tai Tokerau Research Office, a small, collaborative team that partners closely with clinical leaders, the Research and Audit Governance Group, and wider Te Whatu Ora colleagues. The team is connected to national research networks and forums, providing strong support, guidance, and shared expertise. It operates in a valuesdriven environment focused on advancing highquality research, equity, and improved health outcomes for the people of Te Tai Tokerau.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A post-graduate degree in a health or social services topic
  • A minimum of 5 years previous research coordination and/or demonstrated research experience in a healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including co-design
  • An understanding of Te Reo me onā Tikanga
  • A working knowledge of national research funding opportunities and ethics approval processes
  • Knowledge of Māori Health Research Guidelines Te Ara Tiki
