Mental Health Support Worker - MHAIDS Operation Centre -Casual at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley, Wellington Hospital

Location: Porirua/Wellington Hospital/Lower Hutt Hospital

Contract: Casual - up to 40 hours per week

About the Role 

The Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) has vacancies in our Casual Pool for Mental Health Support Workers mainly based in inpatient units and community settings.  The role is part of the MHAIDS Operations Centre, which covers the Wellington, Kapiti, Porirua and Hutt Valley areas.  Salary is MECA Step 1-5 or $59,024 - $74,442.

About you 

  • Have a New Zealand Certificate (Level 4) in Health and Wellbeing Mental Health and Addiction Support (or equivalent qualification)
  • Have experience working within the area of mental health, ID or Addiction
  • Hold a current work visa or have the legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Demonstrate an ability to work with a team with a multi-disciplinary approach
  • A passion for working with a wide variety of people who experience Mental Health
  • Resilience and the ability to work in a very busy environment
  • Are team focused and have positive attitude
  • Have excellent time management, communication, written, verbal and IT skills
  • Full Drivers Licence
  • Consent to a Police Vetting Check under the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014
