The Electoral Commission is seeking a Senior Print Advisor to support the delivery of high-quality print services that enable New Zealand’s electoral events. 

Working closely with the Lead Print Advisor, you will provide technical print advisory services and facilitate the effective delivery of assigned print jobs across the Electoral Commission.  

You will support business units to define their print needs, provide technical advice on print specifications, assist with preparing clear print briefs, and coordinate procurement and delivery processes through approved suppliers to ensure print products are delivered on time, to specification, and to standard. 

This role is ideal for someone with experience in print production who enjoys working with stakeholders, has a strong eye for detail, and understands the importance of quality, neutrality, and public trust. 

This is a fixed term role until December 2026 the salary is $108k- $120k.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Planning and overseeing the production of assigned print jobs, ensuring the print development and delivery meet the agreed timeframe and quality. 
  • Providing day-to-day advice on print processes, specifications, and requirements. 
  • Working with approved print suppliers to track progress and resolve issues. 
  • Assisting with quality assurance checks and maintaining accurate records. 
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of print processes and templates.

You are organised, detail-focused, resilient and enjoy delivering high-quality work in structured environments. You bring experience from a print production, communications, design or publishing background and are comfortable working with both technical detail and a wide range of stakeholders. You follow established processes confidently, contribute to continuous improvement, and understand how accuracy and quality in print directly impact outcomes. 

You work well within a team, take direction when required, and manage your own workload effectively. You are confident working with suppliers, translating business needs into clear print requirements, and supporting quality assurance processes. You bring a professional, solutions-focused approach to your work and understand the importance of integrity, neutrality, and public trust in a public sector environment. 

We are seeking candidates who have: 

  • Experience in print, production, or a related advisory role.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working with internal stakeholders and commercial suppliers
  • Ability to work in a tight timeframe. 
  • A quality-focused, solutions-oriented mindset .
  • A commitment to professionalism, integrity, and neutrality.
