Mō te tūnga | About the role
NZ Police are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP HR and SuccessFactors Expert to lead and support the delivery of SAP HR PA (Personnel Administration) / OM (Organisational Management), ESS (Employee Self Service) / MSS (Manager Self Service) and Success Factors solutions for New Zealand Police. This role is embedded within the ICT Corporate Products Team and is responsible for managing both BAU and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will bring deep SAP functional expertise, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a delivery mindset aligned with Police values
Nga kawenga matua | Key Accountabilities:
- Daily monitoring of SAP PO interface queue and errors.
- Logging of tickets in Service Now for HR/WFM/Payroll to fix data issues from the interface
- Proven leadership in cross-functional delivery using Agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Application of SAP OSS notes
- Investigation of issues that would require ABAP debugging
- Implementing ABAP changes between FI (Financial Accounting) and HR
- Investigation of issues pertaining to workflow approvals
- Support BAU and ERM projects for PO activities and investigations
- Technical Support for BW, SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) and ECC issues

We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of deployment principles, excellent coordination skills, and a continuous improvement mindset. You will bring:
- 15+ years’ experience and knowledge of supporting SAP applications in a complex business environment.
- Substantial experience and knowledge of working in a 2nd and 3rd level application support role, with proven ability to lead enterprise application issues through a problem management process to work around solution.
- Proven ability to identify enhancement requirements and design capability
- Proven experience proactively leading and facilitating activities between business stakeholders, vendors/partners and other ICT teams to implement complex end-to-end technology solutions
- Excellent communication skills and a strong stakeholder management mindset
- Lead systems design, solutions delivery, integration and configuration activities to implement, develop and enhance SAP applications
- Provide advice and recommendations to the business and projects on applications software and enhancements for new or changed business requirements.
Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements
- SAP HCM skills (including but not limited to SAP - OM, PA, ESS / MSS, Time Management and CATS (Cross Application Timesheets))
- Experience of cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) software and talent management software
- Excellent HCM/talent management and functional business knowledge gained through previous roles within an operational HR background
- Implementation and configuration experience of an SAP HCM solution
