Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a dedicated and flexible Speech Language Allied Health Assistant to join our team. The role is primarily based at Waikato Hospital, with the slight chance of shifts occurring in rural hospitals and community bases.

About the Role

• Assisting Speech Language allied health clinicians with patient interventions.
• Helping patients through their Speech Language journey either as an inpatient or an outpatient.
• Ordering of equipment for patients.
• Performing administrative tasks.
• Undertaking group patient activities when required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication with standout interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing work demands.

• A current full NZ drivers licence.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting would be beneficial.
• Commitment to doing things the right way, not the easy way.
• Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
