The Auckland Diabetes Centre, part of the Adult Medical and Community Directorate at Te Toka Tumai, provides specialist, individualised care, education and support for people living with diabetes and their whānau. Our services span outpatient, community and inpatient settings, and we are committed to delivering equitable, culturally safe care across Tāmaki Makaurau.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse to join our established multidisciplinary team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Diabetes.
About the role
This is an advanced nursing position suited to someone who thrives in autonomous practice and enjoys working collaboratively across diverse clinical environments. You will:
- Lead and run independent clinics across inpatient, outpatient and community settings
- Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patientcentred care
- Champion equity by addressing barriers faced by Māori and Pacific communities
- Embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, cultural safety and strong advocacy into everyday practice
- Hold a clinical portfolio, which may include quality improvement, education, research, clinical audits or service development
- Ideally bring postgraduate study, with RN designated prescribing highly desirable

About you
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (or eligible for registration)
- Hold a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Have completed, or be working towards, a Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters degree
- Demonstrate advanced clinical skills, cultural competence and a commitment to equitable health outcomes
