Registered Health Professional - CMH WHakatane at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes, Bay of Plenty

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Health Professional within our friendly and dynamic Adult Community Mental Health and Addictions Team in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. 

In this role you will carry a case load of clientele, supporting them through their recovery journey as part of, and with support from the wider team. The aim of this team is to work with referrers, health partners, families/whānau and the community to provide effective triage, assessment and management of Tangata Whaiora who are requiring our services.  

We work alongside Tangata Whaiora with the core values of patient centred care, and we achieve this with a focus on maximising health while promoting independence in the community. The focus is to deliver high quality care to the growing population in the Bay of Plenty.  In this role you will be working both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary team. 

The successful applicant will be joining a multi-disciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. As a member of Health NZ Bay of Plenty, we work alongside one another with our values underpinning our practice. 

This is a permanent, full-time position. The role is based at Whakatāne Adult Community Mental Health and Addictions (ACMHAS).

About you

To be successful in this role you will need

  • A positive, friendly and professional attitude
  • To be a Registered Health Professional (Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse) with current APC
  • A minimum of two years post graduate mental health experience, ideally community based
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
