Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
The Crown Entity & SOE Performance team provides advice to Ministers on the performance of 26 Crown companies and entities, from small niche entities to some of the largest companies in New Zealand. Our aim is to ensure that these Crown companies and entities operate efficiently and effectively to achieve the Government's ownership purposes and to support the well-being of New Zealanders. We are at the interface of the commercial world and central government.
We have a fixed-term Analyst position, based in Wellington, from now to the end of February 2027, backfilling for the previous incumbent while they are on a secondment.
The Analyst will provide advice to Ministers, in particular the Minister for State Owned Enterprises and the Minister of Finance, on opportunities, challenges and risks facing the Crown companies and entities. To do this, the Analyst will:
- build positive working relationships between the Treasury and the Crown companies and entities
- apply analytical tools to improve our understanding of performance, industry dynamics and key drivers of value and risk
