About the role:
Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau, have the largest Renal Service in New Zealand and are steadily growing. Our Renal Service is committed to making a real difference within the district by improving health status, coordination of quality care and safe discharge planning for our total population. You can join this comprehensive service which has so much variety to offer as it covers: acute renal ward, predialysis, peritoneal dialysis, transplant, facility and home haemodialysis and outpatients.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced senior registered nurse to be our Charge Nurse Manager (CNM) in Ward 1. The CNM will provide strong clinical and professional leadership, with a focus on patient and whaanau centred care, promoting excellence in clinical practice and ensuring the provision of high quality nursing care for our renal patients.
The Acute Renal Ward (Ward 1) cares for patients with renal impairment and renal failure. Although many of our renal patients also have medical conditions, consequently, the ward also has a secondary medical focus taking overflow medicine patients as necessary.
We have a high performing multi-disciplinary team that work closely together and provide comprehensive support to each other.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead clinical nursing standards and promote a whaanau-centered approach.
- Manage performance development, recruitment, and education plans.
- Monitor and improve clinical risk, safety, and quality indicators.
- Maintain effective resource and financial management across the ward.
About You:
- NZ Registered Nurse with current APC
- 5+ years relevant clinical experience, post registration in a large hospital setting in NZ
- Proven management and/or leadership experience
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement, risk management and resource utilisation
