Psychologist - Adult Renal and Diabetes Services at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes, Bay of Plenty

About the Role

Would you like to live and work in one of the sunniest locations in New Zealand?

We are looking to appoint a Psychologist to our Renal and Diabetes Services. This is a new position located in teams developing a strong multi-disciplinary approach to their services. The teams cover Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals, with Tauranga being the major provider of the service.

This position will be based at Tauranga Hospital. It is a permanent, part-time 0.5 FTE position with 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week) allocated to renal services, and 0.1 FTE (4 hours per week) allocated to the diabetes service.

There is currently a similar position advertised based in Whakatane, these two positions could be combined to create a 1.0 FTE role.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our incredible Renal and Diabetes teams work across the Bay of Plenty district to provide specialist care for our community. You will join two established multidisciplinary teams committed to delivering integrated, patient-centred care. These services are in a growth phase, focused on embedding psychological expertise into holistic chronic care.

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a New Zealand Registered Clinical Psychologist with current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Have postgraduate training in clinical psychology and other relevant postgraduate training
  • Be able to demonstrate core facilitative skills in interpersonal interaction
  • Hold a current drivers licence

NB This position is suitable for those trained in, and adhering to, the clinical scopes of practice as defined by the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
