About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

We are looking for a Principal Advisor to join the Data Science team on a permanent basis.

This is a senior role where you will work with a range of stakeholders and business leaders and lead a team of technical experts to discover, develop, validate and test the effectiveness of new initiatives and analytical solutions.

Your technical leadership and analytical expertise will play a key role in addressing strategic priorities and delivering insights and analytical solutions that drive meaningful outcomes.

You will act as the intermediary between the team of technical, design and behavioural experts and our stakeholders, involving communication of sometimes-complex information to a non-technical audience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of high-performing technical experts focused on discovery, development, validation and testing analytical solutions
  • Deliver insights that drive business performance and customer experience improvements
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand needs and shape fit'for'purpose solutions
  • Translate business requirements into actionable, non'technical insights
  • Champion the use of data science to support strategic objectives
  • Develop pragmatic, scalable solutions to a wide range of business problems and opportunities
  • Communicate data stories tailored to the business context and audience.
  • Foster collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement within the team

You will be an experienced data and analytics leader, ready to influence strategy, lead technical experts, and deliver impactful analytical solutions.

  • You understand complex organisational priorities and use data science to shape initiatives that deliver meaningful business and customer outcomes.
  • You bring strong data science and analytical foundations and can lead, coach, and guide teams of technical experts to deliver high'quality, scalable solutions.
  • You can bridge business needs and technical delivery, clearly communicating complex insights and recommendations to non'technical audiences and senior leaders.
  • You apply professional curiosity, analytical rigour, and business acumen to identify root causes and develop pragmatic, fit'for'purpose solutions.
  • You build strong, collaborative relationships and contribute to a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and shared success.

The indicative salary range for this role is $117,787 - $166,288, depending on skills and experience. ACC also offers a generous 9% employer superannuation contribution.
