Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity within the Ministerial Services team providing daily support and coordination for all incoming/outgoing correspondence from NZTA's Official Correspondence mailbox. As our National Correspondence Coordinator, you will work with other Coordinators to record, manage and analyse the flow of official and ministerial work within NZTA (such as public queries, requests for NZTA advice and Official Information Act requests), supporting quality and timely advice to NZTA senior leaders, the Minister of Transport and the public.
This is a critical role within the Ministerial Services team, working to tight timeframes while maintaining excellent working relationships across NZTA, with staff in the Minister's office and other key agencies.

Ko koe tēnei | About you
We manage a large, challenging and diverse workload so if you have experience in managing the processing of ministerial and official work in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. In addition, you will bring:
- Understanding of the machinery of government, previous experience working in government and working/communicating with the office of a Minister is desirable.
- Proven experience in managing competing priorities and organising work in a complex demanding environment, including the ability to maintain composure while working under pressure.
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent judgement and ability to manage all risk appropriately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistently high standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

Ministerial Services works with other NZTA business units to meet the organisation's ministerial servicing and legislative requirements. We are the key interface between the Minister and Associate Minister of Transport, members of the public and other government organisations, responsible for ensuring that work is of the highest quality, within the required timeframes and meets the needs of our customers.
