About the Role
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our M3 nursing team, located at Health New Zealand, Waikato Hospital. The successful applicant will be expected to work rostered rotating shifts.
As a successful Registered Nurse you will play a key role in assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of safe and appropriate patient and whanau centre nursing care in a professional environment of cultural diversity.
Day to day you will be working alongside a team of experienced and dedicated nurses, health care assistants, allied health and doctors within a supportive and friendly environment to ensure your ongoing contribution to service delivery.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Provide a high standard of acute nursing care that promotes optimum outcomes
- Recognise and respond to the deteriorating patient
- Medication management
- Practice in a way that reflects Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Work in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team
- Effective and appropriate delegation

About the Team/Service
Our renal inpatient ward (M3) is a 16 bedded ward that provides treatment and supportive care for our renal inpatient population from across the midland region. Specialising in peritoneal dialysis, management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease. We mange patient pre and post kidney biopsies, permacath insertions and peritoneal dialysis line insertions.
Most renal conditions are of a chronic nature therefore our aim is to maximise patients independence, encourage them to exercise their choice over treatment options and regain/retain control over their lives. If you would like to be a part of this service then we welcome your application.
About you
Must have
- Registration and current practising certificate with Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti O Waitangi in clinical practice.
- Meets a competent level of practice and eligible to work in New Zealand
Nice to have
- Previous clinical experience in Renal, Oncology or Medical nursing.
- Demonstrate self-awareness of your impact on people and invest in your own leadership practice to continuously grow and improve.
