At Kidz First Child Development Team (CDT) in Manukau, youll join a warm, multidisciplinary whaanau of dedicated professionals. We work in a fun, supportive environment while making a tangible difference for children aged 03, with a focus on feeding, swallowing, and communication.

We serve a high population of Maaori and Pacific and especially welcome applicants from these communities.

What Youll Do

  • Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and tailored intervention for tamariki with feeding, swallowing, and communication needs.
  • Partner with whaanau, paediatricians, psychologists, and other specialists to unlock each childs potential.
  • Offer care in multiple ways from one-on-one sessions to group programmes, telehealth, and multidisciplinary clinics.
  • Participate in Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies with our inpatient SLT team.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire helping shape the skills of other clinicians and students.
  • Contribute to service improvements, quality initiatives, and research.
  • Work with children who have Neurodivergent Disorders, Syndromes, Cerebral Palsy, and Global Developmental Delay.

What You Bring

  • NZ registration with the Speech-Language Therapy Board + current APC.
  • 5+ years experience (paediatric feeding/swallowing/communication preferred).
  • Community or secondary care experience.
  • A flair for mentoring, supervision, and service development.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
  • Full drivers licence.
