Part Time Cleaners - Auckland City Hospital at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland, Auckland

We are looking for Part-time Cleaners to join our team within Cleaning Services based at Auckland City Hospital.

This role requires valid New Zealand working rights (New Zealand Citizen / New Zealand Resident) and is unsuitable for overseas candidates.

Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation

We are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Childrens Hospital, located in central Auckland.

We are part of Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand, the overarching organisation for New Zealands national health service. Te Whatu Ora leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are looking for cleaners available to work part-time weekend shifts on the following roster:

Saturday & Sunday (Primary shift):
0630 1500 (0.4 FTE)

Additional shift 
1530 0000

Please note your availability in the pre-screening questions. While we will endeavour to accommodate preferred shifts where possible, Te Whatu Ora is a 24/7 healthcare provider, and flexibility may be required.

Ngā Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful in this role, you will:
Have a good understanding of infection prevention
Be physically fit to undertake the demands of the role
Be punctual and dependable
Be able to answer phones and manage a list of cleaning calls

The following are desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided:
Unit standards or certification in cleaning and/or customer service
Previous experience in commercial cleaning

Successful candidates will be trained in the operation and set-up of disinfection machinery. If you are open to learning new skills and gaining new experience, we would love to hear from you.

The starting hourly rate for this role is $28.63.
