The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate, committed Consultant Rheumatologist to join our dynamic, progressive and multidisciplinary department at Waikato Hospital, New Zealand. This permanent 0.6 FTE position offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a department that values clinical excellence, collaborative research, and medical education.

Youll be part of a multidisciplinary service committed to delivering equitable, high-quality care across the Midland region.

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the ASMS SECA agreement. Benefits include 6 weeks annual leave, CME leave and generous CME allowance, up to 6% superannuation contributions, professional development and wellness support.

About the Service

At Waikato Hospital, you will work in a collegial and supportive environment with 7 Rheumatologists and 3 CNS who are committed to patient care, training and teamwork.

Waikato Hospital has an academic division of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, University of Auckland onsite, along with a well-equipped clinical school, which acts as a teaching and training centre for an increasing number of undergraduates and postgraduate medical and allied health science students.

Waikato Hospital, located in Hamilton, is New Zealands largest tertiary teaching hospital and the regional hub for the Midland area, serving over 840,000 people. With 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and advanced diagnostic facilities, it provides comprehensive care and is affiliated with the University of Auckland, University of Waikato, and Wintec. The hospitals Waiora Campus supports both road and air ambulance services, making it a centre of excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

 

About You

The candidate must have qualifications that would satisfy the requirements for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and must have a driver license.
