He angitūtanga | About the role

We are looking for a Senior Investment & Reporting Advisor to help strengthen investment oversight, reporting quality, and delivery assurance across DOC's Biodiversity National Programmes.

You will lead contract and funding agreement development, provide advice on procurement and investment decisions, and support programme reporting across DOC's Biodiversity National Programmes directorate. Your work will help ensure public funds are well'used, risks are well'managed, and projects deliver the outcomes nature needs.

You will use evidence, data, and insights to shape projects, improve processes, and support continuous improvement across DOC and our delivery partners.

The position will be focused on:

• Working as an honourable Treaty partner to support genuine Māori engagement and involvement in our work.
• Leading end-to-end contracting and investment processes for internal and external projects.
• Monitoring delivery performance and providing assurance of investment.
• Providing accurate, timely reporting and clear insights for decision makers.
• Strengthening DOC's internal procurement and investment processes.
• Supporting system improvements and good investment practice.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

We are looking for someone who brings strong knowledge of public sector investment processes, clear written and verbal communication skills, and a collaborative working style.

You will bring:

• Experience of managing public sector contracts or funding agreements end-to-end (ideally in a conservation/ science related setting).
• Knowledge of New Zealand public sector procurement and reporting requirements.
• Strong reporting and analysis skills, including confidence using dashboards and reporting tools.
• Ability to interpret data and reporting and turn it into clear insights for decision'makers.
• Experience assessing risks and recommending practical mitigations.
• Strong written communication, able to explain complex issues in plain language.
• Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects/contracts.
• Knowledge or experience in conservation, environmental science, predator free work, or technical programme delivery is an advantage.

The salary range for this position is $92,912 to $124,500, with the starting salary based on experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa for the full period of employment.
