Senior Advisor, Partnerships and Engagement at Government Communications Security Bureau, Wellington

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is the heart of Aotearoa New Zealand’s cyber defence. We fulfil the cyber security responsibilities of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki, and provide cyber security services to all New Zealanders – from individuals and small businesses and organisations up to large enterprises, government, and critical national infrastructure. We also operate Own Your Online; NCSC’s platform for everyday New Zealanders and small to medium Businesses.

About the role

The NCSC works with stakeholders and partners to improve New Zealand’s cyber security. We’re looking for an experienced partner relationship manager to join our Engagement, Communications and Partnerships team to engage with organisations and businesses in New Zealand.

In this role you will

  • be the face of NCSC and Own Your Online to partners and stakeholders,
  • bring your strategic engagement skills to help us build our profile and reputation with a range of industry, business, government and other organisations,
  • work across the NCSC to deliver on our partner work programme, supporting our partners and connecting them with NCSC and Own Your Online tools and services, and
  • work within a fun and friendly Engagement, Communications and Partnerships team.

Who we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships and partnerships.
  • A strong background in conversing with partners and stakeholders at different levels across the private and public sector.
  • Ability to develop a stakeholder and partnership plan.
  • A good understanding of cyber security principles; or the ability to acquire one.
  • Ideally have some experience in running events, webinars and/or presenting externally.

The expected appointment range for this role is $103,009 - $109,876 per annum.

Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.

You must:

  • Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years

OR

Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years

  • Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
    • Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
