Mammographers play a key role in early detection of breast cancer, which can save lives through timely diagnosis and treatment.

About the Team/Service

Breast Screen Aotearoa (BSA) is a breast cancer screening programme providing mammograms every two years for eligible women aged 45-69 years. Recent age extension has been rolled out from 70-74 years, with some eligibility criteria.

There are eight lead providers covering New Zealand, of which Breast Screen Midland is one. 

BreastScreen Midland (BSM) covers the geographic boundaries of the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Lakes District regions. BSM currently offers this service from nine fixed sites across the region and is supported by two mobiles (soon to be 4) that travel around the region providing accessibility for rural women.

 

About you

Required skills & experience to be considered for this role:

  • Ideally you will have a post-graduate diploma in Mammography or be willing to train.
  • MRTB Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An interest in promoting women's health and well-being.
  • Knowledge of Te Reo and a willingness to embrace Tikanga Māori.
