This is a key frontline role within a busy, patient-focused Radiology Department. You will play an important part in ensuring patients, referrers, and clinical teams are supported through accurate scheduling, clear communication, and high-quality administrative coordination.
Working at the heart of the Radiology service, youll contribute directly to timely patient care by managing referrals, appointments, waitlists, and reception services across multiple imaging modalities. About the Role

As a Radiology Receptionist / Administrator, you will provide high-quality administrative and reception support to the Radiology Department, ensuring radiology procedures are scheduled accurately and efficiently in line with clinical priorities, Ministry of Health requirements, and patient needs.
Your role will include coordinating referrals and appointments, maintaining and monitoring waitlists, supporting radiologists with administrative tasks, and providing professional reception services to patients and whānau. Youll work closely with radiology staff, clinicians, wards, and external providers to ensure smooth workflows and positive patient experiences.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and organised in a busy clinical environment.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Administration team supports a multidisciplinary imaging service, working across modalities to ensure smooth coordination of referrals, appointments, and patient information. The team plays a vital role in enabling safe, timely, and effective radiology services.

About you

As Radiology Receptionist/Administrator, you will bring strong administrative capability, a patient-centred approach, and a commitment to high-quality healthcare service delivery. You will ideally have:

  • Experience in administrative or reception roles, preferably within a healthcare or complex service environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and time-critical tasks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when managing referrals, appointments, and patient information
  • Confidence using digital systems and the ability to quickly learn new clinical and administrative systems
  • Well-developed communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, whānau, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams
  • A calm, professional approach when working under pressure
  • A commitment to equity, patient confidentiality, and respectful, compassionate care
