About the Role

Our Radiology department is seeking a permanent Sonographer with excellent scanning and time management skills to join our busy team. Located within the hospital, our referrals include acute examinations (inpatient/ED), obstetric, vascular and community referrals. You will be supported by a team of qualified Radiologists and Sonographers.

We are looking for a Sonographer with excellent communication skills, a high standard of patient care, enthusiasm and the ability to work efficiently in our busy department. 

This is a part-time position. While the successful candidate will be based at Tauranga Hospital, there could be an opportunity to work at Whakatane hospital too.

About the Location

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 308,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. About You 

NZ Registration as a Medical Imaging Technologist with a sonography qualification recognised by the Medical Radiation Technologists Board is essential.

The successful applicant you will need:

  • General DMU/Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent 
  • Ideally skilled in areas such as vascular, musculo-skeletal ultrasound 
  • Be computer literate
  • Proactive, efficiency while working 
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
