Audiologist

Clinical Support Service 

Permanent, Full Time (80 hours per fortnight)

About the Role

We are looking for a person who has a clinical background in Audiology and who enjoys working with young children and their families. The successful applicant will be required to hold a Masters Degree in Audiology or an equivalent qualification that is recognised and approved by the New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS).

We offer supervision to support you in obtaining Certificate of Clinical Competency qualification and also Paediatric certification.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You will be a part of a small team of three clinicians committed to delivering exceptional audiological services to the community. We also provide audiometry services to ENT pre admission clinics and work closely with the Newborn hearing screeners.

About you

Essential experience and qualifications:

  • Hold a Masters Degree in Audiology or an equivalent qualification that is recognised and approved by the New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS).
  • Working towards obtaining New Zealand Audiological Society Membership 
  • Current knowledge of available hearing aids and accessories

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Full membership with the New Zealand Audiological Society and possession of a current annual practicing certificate
  • A desire to acquire Paediatric Certificate in Visual Reinforcement Audiometry, Paediatric Habilitation and /or Auditory Brainstem Response Testing as part of professional Development.
  • Has a background knowledge of Auditory Processing Disorder Assessment
  • A valid driver's license is required to facilitate coverage of clinics located in Taupo.
