Specialty Clinical Nurse - Respiratory at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Lakes, Bay of Plenty

Join our supportive and experienced Respiratory Team while enjoying the outstanding lifestyle the Eastern Bay of Plenty has to offer.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Respiratory Specialty Nurse based at Whakatāne Hospital. This role provides the chance to deliver high-quality, person-centred respiratory care across inpatient and community settings, supporting those with respiratory conditions to manage their health to achieve optimal outcomes.

You will work as part of a friendly, dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing specialist nursing assessment, education, and clinical support using evidence-based practice. This role offers a high level of professional autonomy while being well supported by an experienced Respiratory Team.

This fixed-term, part-time role until November 2026 (working 16 hours per week).

About you

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated senior nurse who is passionate about respiratory care and committed to delivering excellence in patient outcomes.

What you will bring:

  • Registered Nurse with current practising certificate
  • Recent clinical experience in Respiratory Nursing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confidence to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A proactive, flexible approach and openness to change
  • Postgraduate study (preferably in Respiratory Nursing or Chronic Conditions), or a commitment to further study
