  • Permanent, Full-time (1.0 FTE), Monday to Friday
  • Be part of a highimpact surgical service supporting General Surgery & Trauma teams delivering essential care to the Auckland community
  • Remuneration: $73,476 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Team Administrator to provide highquality administrative and coordination support to the General Surgery & Trauma Service at Te Toka Tumai Auckland.

This role supports senior clinical and management teams and plays a key part in the smooth daytoday running of the service. Responsibilities include coordinating meetings (including Mortality & Morbidity meetings), supporting clinicians with administrative and IT needs, processing invoices and purchase orders, arranging travel, onboarding new staff, and maintaining accurate records in line with organisational policies.

About the Team/Service

The Surgical Services Directorate delivers secondary and tertiary surgical services to the Auckland population and provides several regional and national services. The General Surgery & Trauma Service is a fastpaced, complex clinical environment requiring strong coordination, attention to detail, and effective collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.

About you

o be successful in this role, you will bring strong administrative experience, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work confidently in a busy healthcare environment.

Essential:

  • Relevant experience in a Team Administrator or similar support role
  • Competence in medical terminology
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
  • A commitment to bicultural practice and achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how its principles apply in a practical workplace context

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Exposure to hospital or health information systems
  • Bachelor of Health Sciences (nonclinical) or similar qualification
